ABOUT US
The Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing and Visual Arts (JMW Arts High School) is a comprehensive, college-preparatory high school with a focus on the arts.

We are recognized by U.S. News & World Report as Bronze Medal Schools among the Best High Schools in the Nation.  In Rhode Island, we rank 14 out of 56 High Schools.

We are committed to preparing our students to go on to top colleges in the nation, while concentrating their studies in a chosen arts discipline: visual arts, dance, music or theater.

We are also a tuition free school for All Rhode Island Residents who currently do not have a certified CTE Program in their district.  Out of state residents must pay tuition.

A Message from the Director...

Hello Everyone,

Just a reminder that Quarter 3 ended last Wednesday.  Progress Reports will be going home Tuesday or Wednesday.  I will send home a robocall the day they are distributed.  Also this week, we will be doing a PARCC Infrastructure Trial with Grade 9 to practice for the PARCC Assessment after Spring Break.

The JMW Chorus will be performing at the PAW SOX Opening game on Monday Night.  Please join us if you can.  If will be a fun-filled evening.

Our Production of Beauty and the Beast is quickly approaching.  Order forms for tickets and a revised rehearsal schedule will be going home on Monday.

We will be placing a new order for JMW Apparel.  The Zip-Up Hoodies and Class T-Shirts are available.  We are also offering Light Weight Jackets and JMW T-Shirts.  Orders are due by April 13th.

Please note that there is no school on Friday, April 14th as that is the start of our Spring Break.  School will resume on April 24th.

Until Next Week,

Ricardo Pimentel, JMW Director
